A Special MousePages Appeal

Yá'át'ééh. In this time of crisis and pain, I want to send another
special version of MousePages.

I have plowed through literally hundreds of letters, newsletters,
emails and sites in the past days. Some have uplifted me, comforted me
and touched me deeply. Some have filled me with despair, and chilled me
to the bone. It is perfectly reasonable that we would be hurt, confused
and angry by what happened here in America on 9/11. Thousands have died
senselessly. Hundreds of thousands have lost loved ones. We are
stunned, shocked and wounded to our very Souls. But in our pain we can
not react like wounded animals.

I have heard reports of Arabic-Americans attacked in every city.
Mosques, places of the Creator, have been defiled and attacked. The
people who would do this are, themselves, terrorists. They are no
better than the people who attacked us to begin with. They spread hate
and fear. We must all remember in these troubled times that we are ALL
part of the family of man. We are ALL in this together.

To say that any segment of this country does not belong here is to say
that virtually everyone here does not belong here. I am American
Indian, should I say that everyone who is not of the First People does
not belong here? How many years of a family living in this country is
enough to qualify as a culture who has a right to be here?

Let us all be brothers and sisters in this time of sorrow. Striking out
will not bring back the dead. Hurting others will not relieve your
pain. I swear to you all, the ONLY thing that will make you feel better
is to reach out a hand in Love, to help someone, maybe even someone you
don't know and will never meet.

The Navajo have a word:   Hózhó. It means to find the balance and
harmony in ALL things. To be in tune with the Universe, both good and
bad. To go with the flow, if you will. Look within yourselves. Find
you own hózhó in this time of pain. It will give you a measure of Peace
in this time of pain.

May the Creator bless each and every one of you. We will get through
this.
