Meeting Life's Challenges
I have a new greetings site, Pages With Spirit. It is doing
very well, and I have been getting some good reviews! I have been putting new pages up every day, and enjoying the
experience very much. Making
greetings pages is pure creativity, and I just love it.
Now, just so I would not get too complacent, the universe
wanted to balance things out, so the transmission has gone out in our car.
Due to a twisted path full of challenges, we can't get it fixed for a
month. Interestingly enough, this
is not bothering me at all. Acquaintances
are amazed that I refer to it as a "challenge".
Friends know my philosophies, and the Navajo inner balance that I work
every day to maintain.
So, my husband and I are re-learning the finer art of
walking, and making friends with the bus schedule. First of all, I am a strong believer in the idea
that everything happens for a reason, even if we can't see what the reason is.
Borrowing from an old poster that I had in the hippie 70's, Desiderata,
"...the universe is unfolding as it should."
Second, I have long since learned that worry, anger and depression over a
situation that one has no control over is useless, it just sucks up your energy
and makes everything worse. Think
of the money we are saving on gas! I
definitely need the exercise. I am
getting what I lovingly refer to as a "computer butt".
I guess the point I am trying to get across is that we all
have challenges in life, how we handle them determines how they are going to
turn out. I choose to believe that
every challenge is a gift from the Creator, the gift of an opportunity to grow.
We do not grow or learn in a static environment where nothing happens.
I believe that we are here, on this Earth, now, to grow and to transmute
Karma. I am not suggesting that our
transmission woes are a result of "CAR-ma" (I apologize, but I could
not resist...); I do think that how we meet and overcome challenges of any kind
helps our Karmic debt. As to the
reason that this might have happened, I choose to believe that the Above Beings
have kept us from possibly getting into a serious accident, or that by not
having ready transportation, we will not go somewhere that could potentially
cause some problem. Even if this is
not true, it makes me feel protected and safe, and that is a nice way to feel.
It sure beats feeling angry and put-upon by problems!
I also believe
that the Universe is circular, every moment in time is eventually going to come
back to me. I would much rather it
came back to me as a lesson learned, than as a lesson that I still need to
learn. I want it to return as good
energy, not the energy of a negative situation that I made worse with my own
negativity. If I get very upset
about the car, will it get fixed any quicker?
Most likely not. If I whine
and moan about how everything happens to me, will the car be repaired any
quicker? No, and most likely people will begin to avoid me!
If I accept this challenge with patience and grace, I am much more likely
to get help from people when I need a ride somewhere.
