Welcome Letter
by Sibyl McLendon

Ya'ah'teh' and greetings. I hope that this finds you well and at peace. Things are very good here. I thank all of you who contacted me with support for our car problems. It is so nice to know that you actually read this!
I am still thinking a lot about Life Lessons this week, and how we are all on a path, whether we realize it or not. I have been contacted twice this past week from people seeking information from loved ones in Spirit. This is an ability that the Creator gifted me with that I take very seriously. I was able to help one family, but not the other. There is always a common thread in what people who ask me for this type of help are seeking. They always want to know if the loved one in Spirit is happy, and if there is any anger towards the people they left behind. It is such a sad question to me. So, I have decided to share with you what I know about people in spirit.
The first thing I always tell people seeking a loved one in Spirit is that they must realize that being in Spirit is home. Here, on the earth plane is like being in boarding school. We come here to learn lessons, and to transmute Karma, and the entire goal is to accomplish this and then to go home. Passing into Spirit is like graduation! It is a joyful and happy time. We reunite with loved ones, and we learn exactly what this is all about. All becomes clear.
I am going to write an article, or maybe a couple of them on this subject. I will have the first one for you next week. If any of you need more information, please feel free to e-mail me about it.
Getting back to Life Lessons, and paths, I never cease to be amazed by how we are guided every step of the way, if we will allow it to happen. So many times I have been unable to see where a path was heading, or why something that seemed to be bad was happening. Invariably, when I was able to look back at the event after time had passed, I could see that it was not really a bad thing at all. Sound weird? Well, here is an example.
Two years ago I had my own store. I was happy, and felt that I would always be doing the things that I was then. A little over one year ago, the store location became a huge problem, so I decided to move it. An opportunity presented itself, and I took it. The new location turned out to be much worse than where I had been before. Business took a huge turn for the worse, Bobby and I were dreadfully unhappy with the people we were in the store with, and things seemed very bleak. In July of last year, we decided close the store. I felt lost and afraid. Almost immediately, Keen manifested, and within no time, Bobby was making more money there than we ever had in the store. I was learning new things every day on the computer, and now, I am putting up a web design business with paid advertising. We are home, with no one to tell us what to do, no huge obligations like we had running a store, and we are being provided abundantly. Looking back, I can see it all so clearly as a path that led to where we are today.
The exact same thing is true of when my youngest son went to jail for six months several years ago for drug problems. It turned out to be the best thing that could have happened for him, but at the time I felt devastated. We just have to have faith. It also helps a lot to realize that we are all making decisions, every moment of every day, about what our lives will be like. We really are making our own realities. I am including a wonderful story this week on that subject. Hope you read it.
Well, I have gone on and on here. Enjoy this week's MousePages!

Choices
Author Unknown

Note: I received this in an e-mail this week. I think it is a perfect example of how we make choices every day about how our lives are going to manifest. We really do create our own reality!

<<:::>><<:::>>

Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say: When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, "if I were any better, I would be twins!"

He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, Michael was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation. Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up to Michael and asked him, "I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?"

Michael replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood. Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it. Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.
"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested. "Yes, it is," Michael said. "Life is all about
choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood. You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live life." I reflected on what Michael said. Soon thereafter, I left the Towe Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that Michael was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower. After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, Michael was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back. I saw Michael about six months after the accident. When I asked him how he was, he replied. "If I were any better, I'd be twins. Wanna see my scars?" I declined to see his wounds, but did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.

"The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon to be born daughter,"
Michael replied. "Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or I could choose to die. I chose to live."
"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?" I asked.
Michael continued, "...the paramedics were great. They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared.
In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man." I knew I needed to take action."
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me," said Michael.
"She asked if I was allergic to anything. "Yes, I replied."
The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply.
I took a deep breath and yelled, "Gravity."
Over their laughter, I told them, "I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."
Michael lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his
amazing attitude.
I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.
Attitude, after all, is everything.

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34

After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

Lepidolite
by Sibyl McLendon

Lepidolite is a sweet, soothing lavender stone, often found with pieces of pink tourmaline in it. It is a fairly common stone, sometimes showing up as a kind of pink or lavender mica on other mineral specimens. Lepidolite is one of the major sources of lithium in the world.
I have to talk a little about lithium here, because it is so misunderstood. Lithium is the most widely used treatment for manic-depression, or bi-polar disorder. Manic-depression, because it presents itself through thought disorders, is considered to be a mental illness, but in reality it is a chemical imbalance. Lithium is the treatment because it is a naturally-occurring salt. It is a wide-spread misconception that lithium is some sort of psychotropic drug, that it is man-made and causes many side-effects that make the taker a zombie in some way. This is so far from reality! Lithium is number 3 on the periodic table
(more information: http://www.webelements.com/webelements/scholar/elements/lithium/key.html) and occurs naturally as a salt. Some people are born with an inability to use this salt naturally, and therefore must take it as a medication supplement, or be classified as bi-polar. Some people cannot metabolize it well, and then there are other medications that can help.
So, lithium levels out mood swings, and so can lepidolite. You don't have to be a bi-polar to need to have your moods leveled out sometimes. Lepidolite can very gently and effectively do this for you. It calms, as well as lifts depression, and promotes some self-esteem and self-love in the process. Used in conjunction with rose quartz, it can really help anyone who is working on self-esteem issues.
It is used for jewelry sometimes, or you can just carry a piece with you. To see a photo of lepidolite, you can go to http://www.earthsense-international.org.uk/crystpic1.htm (scroll down to the 'L's") I am NOT recommending any commercial site, just sending you to a site with a good photo.

NATURAL HAND/NAIL CARE
by Kim Newman

Hands and feet are our hard working extremities and deserve pampering with a little extra care and attention. The skin which covers our hands and feet is much thicker than that anywhere else non our body. This provides them with important protection during their daily arduous tasks, but can sometimes result in a build up of hard rough, chapped skin that looks unsightly and can be painful. Our hands especially are always out on show and are continually exposed to the elements. Strong sunshine encourages 'age' spots on the backs of the hands, cold weather leaves them dry and chapped, while washing in soapy water strips away their natural oils, leaving them rough and wrinkled.
Fingernails require regular care to keep them trim and attractive. Giving yourself a weekly manicure is a simple beauty treatment and keeps nails tidy and prevents problems such as splitting, flaking, painful ingrown nails and Fungal Infections.
A very efficient hand soak is as follows:

3 drops Bay Essential Oil
3 drops Sandalwood Essential Oil
30mls Sweet Almond Oil (or Olive Oil if you have a nut allergy.)

Blend all ingredients in a screw top jar after warming the Almond or Olive Oil and shake well. Pour some into a bowl. Massage each finger in turn and pay particular attention to the nail and cuticle areas. If you have cotton gloves (can be obtained from a Pharmacy) carry out the treatment at night and sleep with the gloves on.

An alternate recipe, which will relax the mind and spirit as well as sooth the hands is as follows:

50mls Almond Oil
20mls Wheat germ Oil
10 drops Lavender Essential Oil.

Apply this whilst the solution is warm to gain the most benefit.

LAVENDER BARRIER CREAM

10grms (1/4oz) Beeswax pieces
25grms (1oz) Cocoa Butter
60mls Almond Oil (or) Grape Seed Oil (if nut allergy exists.)
15mls Castor Oil
15 drops Lavender Essential Oil

This is a waterproof hand cream. It will protect your hands from the elements and daily exposure to cleaning products etc, as well as gardening. Keep a tub of this handy (!!!) for regular use throughout the day. For a man the Lavender can be replaced by Sandalwood or Lemon for a more 'macho' aroma !!!
Place the beeswax and cocoa butter in a heatproof bowl and put in a saucepan half full with water, heat very gently until melted, stir and combine together. Remove from the heat and stir in the Castor Oil. Allow to cool and then 'beat' in the Lavender Oil. Pour the mixture into tubs or shallow screw top jars and label. Rub into the hands whenever a protective barrier is necessary. This can be used daily as an intensive treat for the hands.

CUTICLE CREAM (used as treatment for Fungal Infections)

10 grm Beeswax pieces
60ml Almond Oil / Wheat germ Oil (if nut allergy exists)
10 drops Tea Tree Oil
5 drops Lavender Oil

This nourishing cream also contains Essential Oils to heal minor skin irritations and the inclusion of the Tea Tree Oil will not only help to prevent Fungal Infections but help to cure any already present. This can be used on the feet as well as the hands.
Place Beeswax and Almond/Wheat germ Oil in heatproof bowl. Place in a saucepan of warm water, heat until the two are melted together, and stir well. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly. Then, stir in the essential Oils.
Pour the mixture into a small screw top jar and use to massage daily around the nails. This will soften the cuticles and prevent them from splitting and peeling.

There you are, have fun and enjoy making these gorgeous hand treatments. Please try them out. Have you any requests for items that you would like me to address in future issues? I do reply to e-mails received. Have any of you looked at my 'Natural Skincare' web site yet? Please go and have a look, you might find something there that interests you and there are links to other sites too.
Have a nice week and ..................eat healthily !!!

Children and Violence, One Last Word WARNING: EXPLICIT LYRICS!!!!
By Sibyl McLendon

Continuing my editorial views from last week, I have just one more point I want to make on this subject, and then it's on to something else, I promise!

Words have power. I can hear all of you saying, “So? I know this. What's your point?” Well, it is just this: words have power! Indigenous people have always known this. That is where chants came from. Chanting, saying words over and over, many times accompanied by the powerful, rhythmic beats of a drum can induce visions, take people to an altered state of consciousness, call spirits….
If you think about it, it sounds a lot like rap music! Powerful beats, words spoken fast and rhythmically, and kids all over the world are listening to them. Memorizing every word, even though (if you are like me) most adults can't understand a word. Well, folks, your children understand them. They listen for hours on end, over and over, just like they were chanting. Question is, do you know WHAT they are chanting?
A couple of weeks ago, a rapper named Eminem won a Grammy. He is a hugely popular rap star. I'm sure that most of you know that he is controversial. I also know that a lot of you let your children listen to him anyway. But I wonder if you also know exactly what words your children are hearing, over and over again, like a chant. Well, I went and took a look at some of the lyrics to his songs. I couldn't even copy most of them to include here. Even I am not that liberal, or brave! But I did get some of the tamer stuff, so you could see for yourself what he is saying to the children of the world.

Concerned about school shootings? How about this:

Motherf**kers want me to come on their radio shows
just to argue with 'em cause their ratings stink?
F**K THAT! I'll choke radio announcer to bouncer
from fat bitch to off seventy-thousand pounds of her
from principal to the student body and counselor
from in-school to before school to out of school
I don't even believe in breathin - I'm leavin air in your lungs
just to hear you keep screamin…
OKAY, I'M READY TO GO PLAY
I GOT THE MACHETE FROM O.J.
I'M READY TO MAKE EVERYONE'S THROATS ACHE

I take seven kids from Columbine
Stand 'em all in line
Add an AK - 47, a revolver, a nine
A mack 11 and an all assault a problem of mine
A natural old school a bully shot em all at one time

Worried about violence again women?

Bitch I'ma kill you! Like a murder weapon, I'm gonna conceal you
in a closet with mildew, sheets, pillows and film you
Buck with me, I been through hell, shut the hell up!
I'm tryin to develop these pictures of the Devil to sell 'em
I ain't ask to rap, but I rap on acid
Got a new blow-up probe and just had a strap-on added
WHOOPS! Is that a subliminal hint? NO!
Just criminal intent to sodomize women again

Put your hands down bitch, I ain't gon' shoot you
I'ma pull +YOU+ to this bullet, and put it through you
Shut up slut, you're causin too much chaos
Just bend over and take it like a slut, okay Ma?
"Oh, now he's raping his own mother, abusing a whore,
snorting coke, and we gave him the Rolling Stone cover?"
You god damn right BITCH, and now it's too late
I'm triple platinum and tragedies happen in two states
I invented violence, you vile venomous volatile bitches
vain Vicadin, vrinnn Vrinnn, VRINNN! {*chainsaw revs up*}
Texas Chainsaw, left his brains all
danglin from his neck, while his head barely hangs on
Blood, guts, guns, cuts
Knives, lives, wives, nuns, sluts
Bitch I'ma kill you! You don't wanna f**k with me
Girls neither - you ain't nuttin but a slut to me
Bitch I'm gonna kill you!

Believe me, there was no way I could include the lyrics about raping his own mother, and making a baby that was his son and his brother at the same time!
Think I am just picking on Eminem? OK, how about something from Snoop Doggy Dogg?

One gun is all that we need, to put you to rest
Pump Pump, put 2 slugs dead in your chest
Now you dead and a motherf**ker, creepin and sleepin
6 feet deepin', F**kin with the pound is..

Suicide, it's a suicide

Now Tell me, what's my motherf**kin name
Serial Killa, Serial Killa, Serial Killa

Deep like the minds of minolta
now picture this, let's picnic
inside morgue, not picnic baskets, picnic caskets
and i got the machine, that cracks the f**kin chest plates
the releases the guts, brutal, jagged edge, it's totally ruff

Cypress Hill:

How I could just kill a man!
One-time tried to come in my home,
take my chrome, I said "Yo, it's on.
Take cover son, or you're ass-out.
How you like my chrome?", then I watched the rookie pass out.
Didn't have to blast him, but I did anyway...
Hahaha... that young punk had to pay.
So I just killed a man!

Jay-Z:

Now I don't flash the steel, I blast for real
My motto: you only good as the last nigga you kill

I really could go on and on. I am not trying to slam rap music in general. I am not against anyone's first amendment rights. The only point I am trying to make here is do you know what your children are listening to? Do you care? If you think that it doesn't affect them, you are living in a dream world. When these rap stars are the ones that are winning the awards, making all the money, being looked up to… what does it say about us? And like it or not, “US” is you and it is me. We are society! The world is made up of each and every one of us, we make the rules, we make the decisions about what our world is going to be, each and every day. It was true in the 60's, and it is true now: if you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

The Power Of Music

WHO WILL SAVE THE CHILDREN
by Randy Stonehill

Cry for all the innocent ones born into a world that's lost its heart
For those who never learn to dream
because their hope is crushed before they can start
And we shake our fists at the air
and say, "If God is love, how can this be fair?"

But we are His hands
We are His voice
We are the ones who must
make the choice
And if it isn't now,
tell me when?
If it isn't you, then tell me
who will save the children?
Who will save the children?

We count our blessings one by one yet we have forgotten how to give
It seems that we don't want to face
all the hungry and homeless who sturggle to live
But heaven is watching tonight
tugging at our hearts to do what's right

And we are His hands
We are His voice
We are the ones who must
make the choice
And if it isn't you, then tell me
who will save the children?
Who will save the children?

As we observe them through our T.V. screens they seem so distant and unreal
But they bleed like we bleed And they feel what we feel
Oh, save the children
Save the children
Save the children

Now we decide that nothing can change and throw up our hands in numb despair
And we lost a piece of our souls
by teaching ourselves just how not to care
But Christ would have gone to the cross just to save one child from being lost

And we are His hands
We are His voice
We are the ones who must make the choice
And it must be now
There's no time to waste
It must be you
No one can take your place
Can't you see that only we Can save the children
Save the children
Save the children
Please, save the children
