Welcome Letter
by Sibyl McLendon

Ya'ah'teh' and Welcome. I hope that your week will be a wonderful one. This week is a special one for me, because on the 12th, Bobby and I will celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. 21 years is a loooong time! It has been quite a series of ups and downs, but I really mean it when I use the word "celebrate" this time. The past year has been an amazing one for us, and I am so peaceful and contented with where we are now. To me, "peace" and "contentment" are as good as it gets in a marriage. I have so learned in these 21 years that no other person can fulfill all of our needs, that there is no knight in shining armour, and that we can never, ever, change anyone but ourselves. Those valuable lessons lead to peace and contentment, and I am well satisfied with where we are, right now.
I have a new site up this week. It is called Spirit Mouse, and I invite you all to go take a look. This site came from a need that I saw through the readings that Bobby gives, and the on-line counseling that I do. So many people are out there, wounded and hurt. I know what that feels like. Bobby was always sending people to sites that he thought would help them with one thing or another, but it was time consuming and sometimes, people didn't get the URL right and never got to where they needed to be. So, I created Spirit Mouse to solve that problem. It covers a variety of subjects, with lots of links to valuable sites, but the theme is self-help. It is an on-going labor of love, and I can see where it most likely will never be completed. If you do go and take a look, please sign the guest book!
One last thought about the song this week. It contains a stanza that I have been quoting to people for years, "God only knows, God makes his plan, the information's unavailable to the mortal man"; to me this means that we are so much better off when we go with the flow. He/She knows best, and can see so far ahead. When we start thinking that we are in charge here, that is when things start messing up.
Blessings!

JUICE YOUR WAY TO HEALTH AND BEAUTY!!!!
by Kim Newman

As readers of my previous articles know, I have always maintained that one of the best ways to attain a healthy trouble free skin, is to also eat well. For this reason I have decided to write about juicing fruit and vegetables as a way of easily and quickly absorbing nutrients into your body. Fruit and Vegetables are a wonderful source of many of the essential vitamins, minerals etc that are needed by us on a daily basis.
Mouth watering recipes to 'tickle the taste buds' and provide essential energy, alleviate stress, ward off disease and assist in delaying the ageing process.
Pulp that is left after juicing the fruit can be applied to the skin as a 'mask'. You all know that I believe in using natural products. These are far less expensive than lotions and potions containing mineral oils and petrochemicals which clog the pores and actually are the cause of a lot of problems we encounter. They do not 'balance' the skins natural ph in the majority of cases.
Please, if any of you have specific problems, visit my website, where you will find a list of homemade recipes to suit you, I hope !!! If you have a specific problem please e-mail me. Well, here we go, happy juicing !!!!
Simply add the ingredients of each recipe to the electric juicer and enjoy!!!

HIGH FLYER!!

Spinach, 6 leaves
Carrots, 3 unpeeled, halved.
Apple, 1 unpeeled, quartered.
Beetroot, 1 medium, unpeeled, with leaves.

An excellent way to begin the day. Set yourself up with this blood-building, vitamin enriched energy booster. Drink this at least twice a week for full benefits. PLEASE....don't apply the pulp to your face unless you wish to look like a red beetroot !!!!! Omit the beetroot and the pulp makes an excellent face mask !!!!! Try this once a week.

INSTANT ENERGIZER

Carrots, 4 unpeeled, halved.
Apple, 1 unpeeled, quartered.
Kiwi fruit, 1 peeled (as the skin is bitter)

This CAN be applied to your face, moisturizing and vitamin enriched. It also gives your immune system a boost and helps to ward off 'bugs' for up to 24 hours. Puffy feet and fingers will benefit too, from the diuretic qualities. Ideal as a drink for women before and during Menstruation, who tend to 'bloat' and retain fluids.

RED EYE SPECIAL !!!

Mint, 6 leaves with sprigs.
Spinach, 6 leaves
Melon, 1 medium, yellow fleshed, peeled and de-seeded.
Parsley, 1 handful with sprigs.

Yes, you've guessed, an ideal cure for the 'hangover' after a night on the town !!!!! Also excellent for jet-lag or have you simply been burning the midnight oil ?? The natural oils in both Parsley and Mint soothe the stomach so also aid digestive problems. Add a little Stem Ginger and it is ideal for those of us who are unfortunate enough to have stomach ulcers. This is not a miracle cure but, comes pretty close !!!

PEAR PERFORMER.

Pears, 4 quartered.
Grapes, 12 black or green, off the stalks !!
Apples, 2 unpeeled and quartered.
Pineapple, 2 slices, peeled.

If you feel sluggish, this is the ideal solution !!! Never underestimate the power of a pear !!!! This juice provides energy and aids digestion. The natural fruit acids make this an ideal face mask too. They loosen dead skin cells and help to fight free radicals in the air around us. (Pollution etc.) Try adding some Lemonade to the juice, this makes a wonderful summer drink and can be made into Ice lollypops in the freezer, for the child in all of us !!!!

More next week!

Is My Loved One In Spirit Happy?
By Sibyl McLendon

One of the most frequently asked questions that I receive from people is about how their loved one is doing in Spirit. They worry that the loved one is unhappy, or angry with them about something, that they may be displeased with some aspect of the way that the funeral was handled or the way in which the goodbyes were said. I can assure each and every one of you without knowing anything about the facts of your individual circumstances, that your loved one is happy and not angry or upset about anything.
How can I know this without knowing anything about them, or about you? Easy. I know what it is like to be in Spirit. I have stated before, but it cannot be stressed enough, that being in Spirit is being home. It is where we all belong. It is so easy to get so caught up in our lives here that we start to think that this is what is important; how successful we are, now much money we have, how many friends, how many toys… when in reality, this is no different than being in school. Our real selves exist in Spirit.

Going home to Spirit is a wonderful and miraculous event. All pain is removed. All emotional trauma is gone. We are no longer sick, or tired or hurt. We exist as pure energy, but with the essence of who we are intact. Everything is made clear to us. All of our transgressions are forgiven. We discover that we have another chance to make good everything that we failed at this lifetime.

If your loved one was angry or upset about something right before they passed, it is gone. If you had done something to hurt them, or if you let them down in some way, don't worry! They have immediately learned that none of that matters. It may seem huge to you, but to your loved one is Spirit it is as minuscule as a mote of dust. They have reunited with loved ones of their own that had passed. They are filled with wonder and love. All is joy.

Many loved ones do, indeed, spend time with those that they have left behind for a period of time after death. If you feel them around you, no doubt they are there. But as time goes on, they will visit less and less, because they are busy learning new lessons and ideas, and planning for their next incarnation. They also recognize that you need them less as time goes on, and you learn to live your life with out them. They want you to be happy. They want you to go on with your life. They want you to be happy. They do not want you to spend your time in pain and depression, missing them. Do not allow the passing of a loved one to stick you in the past, never moving on with your life. Invariably, when I get a message from Spirit for a loved one, it is that they are happy, at peace, and do not want the ones left behind to be sad.

Now, I do not want any of you who are in pain of any kind to get the idea that this sounds so great, "I believe that I will commit suicide and go there now." Suicide is a breaking of your Karma. It is using your free will to circumvent the lessons that you have to learn, the growth that you came here for and the Karma that you came here to transmute. It is a huge step backwards on the Karmic wheel. Committing suicide severely wounds the ones that you leave behind, and sets up a huge Karmic debt that you will have to repay.

I know very well, from experience, how hard it is to lose someone that you love. But take comfort in the knowledge that they are home, where it is happy and pain free. They will be waiting for you when your time here comes to an end. They have learned that there is no room in the human soul for hate, revenge, pain or anger. It is too filled with love. Let your heart be filled with love as well. I would like to close this with a poem that I believe sums this up very well:

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet
birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

"The Myth of Luck"
by Katherine Winters

Most of us were taught to believe in the myth of luck. We believe that certain people have achieved certain successes or experienced "good fortune" at least partially because of luck. Of course, we acknowledge that hard work and perseverance were involved to some extent, but we believe that "luck" is the critical factor in most people's successes.

How many times have you heard someone say something to the effect of, "If you want to accomplish X, you'll need more than hard work and credentials. You'll also need to a lot of luck. It's a hard business to break into (or succeed in, or rise to the top of, etc.)."

We nod our heads, subconsciously slipping into the trap of allowing ourselves the excuse of lack of luck whenever we fail to achieve something that we want . . . but which we secretly believed was out of our range anyway.

Here's the lesson: luck is self-created.

"Lucky" people put themselves in the right place at the right time, they contact the people that they need to meet to get ahead or stay connected, they work hard and consistently to make sure that when an
opportunity arises, their name and reputation are known -- and they are ready to meet the challenge.

Practice creating luck on a daily basis. Your opportunity may be just around the corner -- but you have to be prepared for it. Think of all the ways that you can create luck in your own life.

Perhaps that means sending out resumes on a daily basis; perhaps it means calling five more contacts per day, being friendly to everyone that you meet, writing that business article, or sending out that press release. Perhaps it means stretching your comfort zone just a little bit more every day.

The creation of luck entails different things for different people. Figure out what it entails for you, and practice the creation of luck every day.

Expect to be lucky, prepare to be lucky, and you will create your own luck.

Garnet
by Sibyl McLendon

This week's gemstone is garnet. Family has been bugging me to do this stone for awhile because it is a favorite. Garntes are found all over the world, but the best garnet comes from India. It is not generally known that garnet comes in many different colors. Here is a link to a page that shows some of the various colors that garnet can be found as:

Nan Design

Emotionally, Garnet promotes self-confidence, strength of character and the joie de vivre. It bestows courage, hope and trust. Mentally, Garnet helps us say goodbye to old ideas and to begin a new life. It dissolves behavioural patterns and habits that hinder us from achieving a free lifestyle. It is also seen as a soothing stone, and if put under one's pillow, some believe it will ensure sweet dreams. Physically speaking, Garnet fortifies the power of regeneration in the body. It eliminates blocks, stimulates the metabolism and harmonizes the composition of body fluids, particularly of the blood and accelerates healing of inner and external wounds. It aids circulation, and ancient people actually put ground garnet in wounds to stop bleeding.

Garnet is the birthstone for January.

I am NOT promoting any commercial site. I am only choosing the sites for their photos.

The Power Of Music

Slip Slidin' Away
Words & music by Paul Simon

Slip slidin' away
Slip slidin' away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you're slip slidin' away

I know a man
He came from my home town
He wore his passion for his woman
Like a thorny crown
He said Delores
I live in fear
My love for you's so overpowering
I'm afraid that I will disappear

Slip slidin' away
Slip slidin' away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you're slip slidin' away

I know a woman
Became a wife
These are the very words she uses
To describe her life
She said a good day
Ain't got no rain
She said a bad day's when I lie in bed
And think of things that might have been

Slip slidin' away
Slip slidin' away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you're slip slidin' away

And I know a father
Who had a son
He longed to tell him all the reasons
For the things he'd done
He came a long way
Just to explain
He kissed his boy as he lay sleeping
Then he turned around and headed home again

Slip slidin' away
Slip slidin' away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you're slip slidin' away

God only knows
God makes his plan
The information's unavailable
To the mortal man
We work our jobs
Collect our pay
Believe we're gliding down the highway
When in fact we're slip slidin' away

Slip slidin' away
Slip slidin' away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you're slip slidin' away

Nothing separates the generations more than music. By the time a child is eight or nine, he has developed a passion for his own music that is even stronger than his passions for procrastination and weird clothes.
