Welcome Letter
by Sibyl McLendon

Yá'át'ééh and welcome to MousePages. I have some very important news
for all of you. The hosting site for MousePages has apparantly had some
type of catastrophic event, as it has been gone for four days now! I
have moved the site to a new host. The new URL for MousePages is now:
http://mousepages.aaanativearts.com
Now, I am sure that you noticed that my welcome letter was missing in
the last issue. I have recently discovered that I have very low thyroid
function. This explains a plethora of symptoms that I have been
experiencing for awhile. One of those symptoms is a poor memory! How
about that, I actually have an excuse. Anyway, I simply forgot to
include it last week.
I have found out that many, many cases of low thyroid go undiagnosed.
It is actually thought that as much as 60% of all women over that age of
50 have this problem. If you are experiencing any of the following
symptoms, I urge you to check out the link that follows:

Fatigue, lethargy irregardless of amount of sleep, being cold when
others are not,
heart palpitations, poor circulation, poor memory, weight gain with no
dietary changes, migraine headaches, anxiety, panic attacks, depression,
high cholesterol, low blood pressure, extremely dry skin, hair problems,
swelling ankles and feet, sensitive eyes.

http://thyroid.about.com/health/thyroid/cs/basics_starthere/index.htm

There is a simple test that you can do at home to help you determine if
low thyroid could be the cause.
Update: The porch is finished! Hurrah! It is very nice, and it only
took 2 months and a thousand dollars. :) I intend to sit out there a
lot. In order to get my moneys worth, I should live on it.
So, now to all you Dads: I hope that your Father's day was great. {This
includes all you guys whose children are of the four-legged variety.}
Anyone can be a biological father, but it takes someone very special to
be a Dad. Since I never had a real father, I am very appreciative to
all the Fathers out there who are doing good. Keep up the good work!
This week's Power Of Music is dedicated to you, and there are two
articles on the site just for you as well.
I hope that you enjoy this issue of MousePages, and that you all have a
wonderful and blessed week.

THIS WEEK AT BEYOND NUTRITION

HELLO AGAIN EVERYONE. THIS WEEK AT BEYOND NUTRITION, I WOULD FIRST LIKE
TO WISH ALL OF THE DAD'S A VERY HAPPY FATHER'S DAY.   I TRULY BELIEVE
THAT FATHER'S DAY IS EVERY DAY BUT TO ALL OF YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL
DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I JUST WANT TO TALK ABOUT ANGELS.    SOME PEOPLE SEE ANGELS IN MANY
DIFFERENT LIGHTS: THEY SEE AN ANGEL AS A PERSON WITH WINGS THAT FLIES,
OR THEY MAY SEE AN ANGEL AS A PERSON WHO IS ALIVE OR NO LONGER WITH US.
ANGELS ARE VERY POWERFUL AND ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO MANY PEOPLE.

MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH AN ANGEL WAS MY GRANDMOTHER WHO HAS BEEN DEAD
FOR 10 YEARS. I KNOW AND FEEL THAT EVEN THOUGH I HAVE COME TO NEW
ENGLAND FROM NEW JERSEY THAT SHE IS WITH ME AND HAS FOLLOWED ME
EVERYWHERE THAT I HAVE GONE. THERE ARE ALSO ANGELS IN OUR LIFE WHO WE
MEET AND GREET EVERYDAY.

MANY PEOPLE HAVE MANY DIFFERENT FAITHS AND RELIGIONS SO ANGELS MAY NOT
PLAY A VERY BIG PART IN THEIR LIVES. BUT YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE THE ANGEL
IN YOUR LIFE TO WALK BESIDE YOU DURING GOOD TIMES AND BAD AND ALSO TO
SHARE YOUR PRAYERS. I HAVE MADE MY PRAYERS DAILY BASED ON A NUMBER OF
REASONS AND IF NOTHING ELSE JUST TO START MY DAY.

PRAYER TO ONE'S GUARDIAN ANGEL (DAILY PROTECTOR THROUGHOUT LIFE):

DEAR ANGEL, IN HIS GOODNESS GOD GAVE YOU TO ME TO GUIDE, PROTECT, AND
ENLIGHTEN ME, AND TO BRING ME BACK TO THE RIGHT WAY WHEN I GO ASTRAY.
ENCOURAGE ME WHEN I AM DISHEARTENED, AND INSTRUCT ME WHEN I ERR IN MY
JUDGMENT. HELP ME TO BE ACCEPTED SOMEDAY INTO THE COMPANY OF ANGELS IN
HEAVEN. AMEN........

HERE IS A PRAYER FOR EVERYDAY LIFE....

YOU NEVER PROMISED, I WOULD BE FOREVER SHELTERED FROM THE STORMY TIMES
IN MY LIFE.

YOU HAVE PROMISED THAT THE SUN WILL OUTLAST THE STORMS.

EVEN AS YOU RESTORE PEACE AFTER THE STORM, SO YOU WILL RESTORE A RENEWED
CALM TO MY TROUBLED MIND THROUGH YOUR PEACE INSTILLING PRESENCE THAT IS
SURROUNDING ME NOW.

THANK YOU FOR THE DANGERS THAT TEACH ME TO BE BRAVE, FOR SUFFERING FROM
WHICH I LEARN PATIENCE.....FOR PAIN WHICH TEACHES ME TENDERNESS.....FOR
FALSE FRIENDS, WHOSE LACK OF TRUST CAUSE ME TO PRIZE MY TRUE
FRIENDS.....FOR ILLNESS WHICH TEACHES ME TO TREASURE MY HEALTH, A GIFT I
TOO OFTEN TAKE FOR GRANTED.

THANK YOU FOR LEADING ME THRU THOSE TRYING TIMES. HELP ME TO REMEMBER
THAT IN MY TRYING TIMES THAT THERE IS NO PROGRESS WITHOUT PAIN, NO
CONVERSATION WITHOUT CRISIS AND NO HAPPINESS WITHOUT SADNESS.
IN THESE TRYING TIMES ALWAYS HAVE FAITH........
YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL IS WITH YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.......

THIS IS A SPECIAL POEM FOR ALL OF YOU FROM ME..............

PEOPLE CAN BE UNREASONABLE, ILLOGICAL, SELF CENTERED, LOVE THEM
ANYWAY....
IF YOU DO GOOD PEOPLE WILL ACCUSE YOU OF SELFISH, ULTERIOR MOTIVES, DO
GOOD ANYWAY....
IF YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL, YOU WIN FALSE FRIENDS AND TRUE ENEMIES, BE
SUCCESSFUL ANYWAY....
THE GOOD YOU DO TODAY MAY BE FORGOTTEN TOMORROW, DO GOOD ANYWAY....
HONESTY AND FRANKNESS WILL MAKE YOU VULNERABLE, BE HONEST AND FRANK
ANYWAY....
PEOPLE LOVE UNDERDOGS BUT ONLY TOP DOGS FOLLOW SOME UNDERDOG ANYWAY....
WHAT YOU SPEND YEARS BUILDING MAY BE DESTROYED OVERNIGHT BUILD
ANYWAY.....
PEOPLE REALLY NEED HELP BUT MAY ATTACK YOU IF YOU TRY TO HELP...HELP
PEOPLE ANYWAY...
IF YOU GIVE THE WORLD THE BEST YOU HAVE, YOU MAY GET KICKED, BUT GIVE
THE WORLD THE BEST YOU HAVE ANYWAY......YOU WILL NEVER REGRET
IT!!!!!!!!!!!

I HOPE YOU HAVE ENJOYED THIS WEEK'S ARTICLE AND A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO
SIBYL FOR ALL HER HARD WORK AS ALWAYS FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE FOR ALL
OF US EACH WEEK. ALWAYS KNOW THAT YOUR QUESTIONS AND COMMENTS ARE
WELCOME AND I COULD BE REACHED AT RAW0-@AOL.COM THANK YOU AND HAVE A
NICE WEEK, SEE YOU NEXT TIME.

The Sacred Pipe Ceremony
by Sibyl McLendon

Mitakuye Oyas'in" or "All my Relatives".

The Sacred Pipe and the Pipe Ceremony are quite misunderstood by the
general public. Every time I head the words "peace pipe", I just
cringe. This is a misnomer attached to the Pipe Ceremony by outsiders.
Truely, the Pipe Ceremony was performed with the Europeans in the hopes
of bringing understanding and peace, but this is not what the Sacred
Pipe is all about.
The Sacred Pipe and the Pipe Ceremony were brought to the American
Indian culture thousands of years ago by White Buffalo Calf Woman. She
taught us that the Pipe is always made of red pipestone, with a wooden
stem. The red pipestone symbolizes the good red earth, Mother Earth,
and the skin color of the American Indian, which is red to match the
earth that nourishes us.
The pipe is kept in a pipe bag, with the bowl and the stem separated.
They are not joined until a ceremony is going to be performed.   When a
time comes that the pipe will be used, it is removed from the bag, and
smudged. Everyone involved in the ceremony will be smudged as well.
Only sacred tobacco is used in the pipe. When it is gotten out, a pinch
will be offered to each of the four directions, and to Father Sky and
Mother Earth. Then the pipe bowl is attached to the stem, and the pipe
bowl is loaded.
After the pipe is lit, again, there will be smoke offered to each of the
four directions, Father Sky and Mother Earth. Then the pipe is smoked
for whatever purpose the ceremony is dedicated to. It could be healing,
celebration, or to seal an agreement, because it is believed that no one
who partakes of the Sacred Pipe will lie. Unfortunately, the Europeans
proved this to be wrong!
The belief here is that the smoke will carry the prayers up to
WakanTonka, The creator.

Today pipestone is gotten from a quarry in Minnesota. The quarry is
protected from being depleted by non-Indians, and is held in trust for
all Indian cultures.

Overcoming Loneliness
by Francoise Rapp

It's not uncommon for people today to have an overwhelming
feeling of isolation in a world paradoxically focused on new
communication technology. I come across many clients in my
practice who suffer from loneliness. They anguish over not
having more closeness in their lives, over a certain timidity that
prevents
them from relating freely with others. How they wish they could open
themselves
up to new relationships! They find themselves continually searching for
a connection and loyal bond to nourish their inner selves.

Does this sound familiar? If you're suffering from similar
feelings of solitude, I offer you three aromatic recipes to help you
awaken
your sense of self, calm your fear of loneliness, unfold your self-love,

and provide an awareness that you are full, rich and so gifted by life.
By caring for yourself as you would care for your partner or friends,
you
will feel more full, much less alone, and less reliant on others to fill

your emotional needs.

Each recipe should be made by pouring the oil essences into a 10-ml
bottle
and adding vegetable oil to fill.

Awakening Your Sense of Self
--------------------------------------
     -3 drops Rose
     -3 drops Patchouli
     -5 drops Orange

Anoint the heart chakra. Pour a few drops of this aromatic
blend into your bathtub. Pour a few drops into the palm of your hands
and
breathe it in when needed during the day.

Calming Your Fear of Loneliness
-----------------------------------------
     -2 drops Roman Chamomile
     -2 drops Rose
     -4 drops Sandalwood

Anoint the solar plexus. Pour a few drops of this aromatic
blend into your bathtub. Pour a few drops into the palm of your hands
and
breathe it in when needed during the day.

Unfolding Self-Love
-------------------------
     -3 drops Rose
     -6 drops Ylang Ylang
     -4 drops Sandalwood

Anoint the solar plexus. Pour a few drops of this aromatic
blend into your bathtub. Pour a few drops into the palm of your hands
and
breathe it in when needed during the day

The Bear and the Two Travelers
~Author Unknown

Two men were traveling together, when a Bear suddenly met them on their
path. One of them climbed up quickly into a tree and concealed himself
in the branches. The other, seeing that he must be attacked, fell flat
on the ground, and when the Bear came up and felt him with his snout,
and smelt him all over, he held his breath, and feigned the appearance
of death as much as he could. The Bear soon left him, for it is said he
will not touch a dead body. When he was quite gone, the other Traveler
descended from the tree, and jocularly inquired of his friend what it
was the Bear had whispered in his ear. "He gave me this advice," his
companion replied. "Never travel with a friend who deserts you at the
approach of danger."

The Power Of Music

COLOR HIM FATHER
Winstons

There's a man at my house he's so big and strong
He goes to work each day, stays all day long
He comes home each night looking tired and beat
He sits down at the dinner table and has a bite to eat
Never a frown always a smile
When he says to me how's my child
I've been studying hard all day in school
Tryin' to understand the golden rule

Think I'll color this man father
I think I'll color him love
Said I'm gonna color him father
I think I'll color the man love, yes I will

He says education is the thing if you wanna compete
Because without it son, life ain't very sweet
I love this man I don't know why
Jexcept I'll need his strength till the day that I die
My mother loves him and I can tell
By the way she looks at him when he holds my little sister nell
I heard her say just the other day
That if it hadn't been for him she wouldn't have found her way
My real old man he got killed in the war
And she knows she and seven kids couldn't of got very far
She said she thought that she could never love again
And then there he stood with that big wide grin
He married my mother and he took us in
And now we belong to the man with that big wide grin

Think I'll color this man father
I think I'll color him love
Said I'm gonna color him father
I think I'll color the man love, yes I will

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
